Athens

              Athens (Αθήνα, Athína) is the capital and largest city of Greece. Athens dominates the Attica region and is one of the world's oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning around 3,400 years. The city of Athens has a population of 3,074,160.

Maritsa river

          The Maritsa or Evros (Марица, Ἕβρος, Meriç) is, with a length of 480 km, the longest river that runs solely in the interior of the Balkans. It has its origin in the Rila Mountains in Western Bulgaria. The river enters the Aegean Sea near Enez, where it forms a delta. In ancient times, the Maritsa was known as the Hebros.

          It flows through Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Parvomay, Dimitrovgrad, Svilengrad, Edirne, Kastanies, Pythio, Didymoteicho and Lavara. 
          The main tributaries are: Topolnitsa, Luda Yana, Stryama, Sazliyka, Tundzha, Ergene, Chepinska reka, Vacha, Chepelarska reka, Harmanliyska reka, Arda, Erythropotamos.

Mount Olympus

           Mount Olympus (Όλυμπος, Oros Olympos) is the highest mountain in Greece, located on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) away from Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city. Mount Olympus has 52 peaks.The highest peak Mytikas, meaning "nose", rises to 2,917 metres (9,570 ft).
           In general the climate on Mount Olympus can be characterized by a Mediterranean continental influence. The temperature ranges in winter from -10 ° C to 20 ° C in summer.

           In Greek mythology Olympus was regarded as the "home" of the Twelve Olympian gods of the ancient Greek world.
