It is the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and the Cascade Volcanic Arc, with a summit elevation of 14,411 ft (4,392 m). On clear days it dominates the southeastern horizon in most of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area to such an extent that locals sometimes refer to it simply as "the Mountain." On days of exceptional clarity, it can also be seen from as far away as Portland, Oregon and Victoria, British Columbia. It had an elevation of 4,392 m (14,411 ft).

Glittertind
Glittertind
(Glittertinden) is the second highest mountain in Norway, at 2,465 m above sea level, including the glacier at its peak (without the glacier, it is 2452 m). It had a prominence of 995 m (3,264 ft). It is located within the municipality of Lom, in the Jotunheimen mountain area.
Glittertind had earlier been a challenger for the title as the highest mountain in Norway, as measurements showed Glittertind including the glacier was slightly higher than Galdhøpiggen (2,469 m above sea level). The glacier has, however, shrunk in recent years, and the dispute has been settled in Galdhøpiggen's favour.

Emi Koussi
Emi Koussi
(إيمي كوسي) is a high pyroclastic shield volcano that lies at the south end of the Tibesti Mountains in the central Sahara of northern Chad. It is the highest mountain in Chad, and the highest in the Sahara. The volcano is one of several in the Tibesti massif, and reaches 3445 m in altitude, rising 2.3 km above the surrounding sandstone plains. The volcano is 60 by 80 km wide.
The ascent of Emi Koussi alpinistically is easy but is very difficult due to the extreme water scarcity and associated logistical problems. The rise with camels from the south side to the edge of the caldera takes several days to complete. In winter the temperature drops at night in the caldera far below the freezing point.

Signal de Botrange
Signal de Botrange
(Signaal van Botrange) is the highest point in Belgium, located in the High Fens (Hautes Fagnes, Hoge Venen), at 694 metres (2,277 ft).
In 1923, the six-metre-high Baltia tower was built on the summit to allow visitors to reach an altitude of 700 m. A stone tower built in 1934 reaches 718 m. For several decades a meteorological station was installed at signal Botrange. Since 1999, it was replaced by an automatic station of the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium.
The average and extreme temperatures are usually lower than at any other place in Belgium: the minimum temperature recorded was -25.6 °C, and the maximum in summer was 30 °C.

Cotopaxi
Cotopaxi
is a stratovolcano in the Andes Mountains, located about 28 km (17 mi) south of Quito, Ecuador, South America. It is the second highest summit in the country after Chimborazo, reaching a height of 5,897 m (19,347 ft). The mountain is clearly visible on the skyline from Quito.
The main danger of a huge eruption of Cotopaxi would be the flow of ice from its glacier. If there were to be a very large explosion, it would destroy most of the settlements within the valley in the suburban area of Quito (pop. more than 2,000,000). Another city which would be in great danger is Latacunga which is located in the south valley.

Mauna Kea
Mauna Kea is a volcano on the island of Hawaii. Standing 13,803 ft (4,207 m) above sea level, its peak is the highest point in the U.S. state of Hawaii. However, much of Mauna Kea is below sea level; when measured from its oceanic base, its height is 33,500 ft (10,200 m)— more than twice Mount Everest's base-to-peak height of 3,650 to 4,650 metres (11,980 to 15,260 ft).
Mauna Kea is one of five hotspot volcanoes that form the island of Hawaii, the largest and youngest island of the Hawaiian-Emperor seamount chain. Of these five volcanoes, Mauna Kea is the fourth oldest and fourth most active. Mauna Kea is the only Hawaiian volcano with distinct evidence of glaciation. Similar deposits probably existed on Mauna Loa, but have been covered by later lava flows.

Mount Logan
Mount Logan is the highest mountain in Canada and the second-highest peak in North America, after Mount McKinley
(Denali). Mount Logan is located within Kluane National Park and Reserve in southwestern Yukon and is the source of the Hubbard and Logan Glaciers. Logan is believed to have the largest base circumference of any non-volcanic mountain on Earth, with the massif containing eleven peaks over 5,000 metres (16,400 ft). Because of active tectonic uplifting, Mount Logan is still rising in height, which is 5,959 metres (19,551 ft).
Temperatures are extremely low on and near Mount Logan. On the 5,000 m high plateau, air temperature hovers around −45 °C (−49 °F) in the winter and reaches near freezing in summer with the median temperature for the year around −27 °C (−17 °F).
