Lake Balaton

             Lake Balaton (Plattensee) is a freshwater lake in the Transdanubian region of Hungary. It is the largest lake in Central Europe, and one of its foremost tourist destinations. The Zala River provides the largest inflow of water to the lake, and the canalized Sió is the only outflow.
             The major resorts around the lake are Siófok, Keszthely, Balatonalmádi, Balatonboglár, Balatonlelle, Fonyód, Vonyarcvashegy and Balatonfüred. Zamárdi, another resort town on the southern shore, has been the site of Balaton Sound, a notable electronic music festival since 2007.  The peak tourist season extends from June until the end of August. The average water temperature during the summer is 25°C, which makes bathing and swimming popular on the lake.

Budapest

             Budapest is the capital and the largest city of Hungary, the largest in East-Central Europe and the seventh largest in the European Union. It is the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation centre, sometimes described as the primate city of Hungary. In 2011, according to the census, Budapest had 1.74 million inhabitants. 
              The main sights of Budapest are: Chain Bridge (Széchenyi lánchíd), Heroes' Square (Hősök tere), Hungarian Parliament Building (Országház), Fisherman's Bastion (Halászbástya), St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent István-bazilika), Gellért Hill (Gellért-hegy), Buda Castle (Budavári Palota), Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Magyar Tudományos Akadémia), Gresham Palace (Gresham-palota), Gerbeaud Confectionery, Museum of Fine Arts (Szépművészeti Múzeum), Kunsthalle Budapest (Műcsarnok), City Park (Városliget), Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyad vára), Hungarian State Opera House (Magyar Állami Operaház), Széchenyi thermal bath (Széchenyi gyógyfürdő), Matthias Church (Mátyás-templom), Saint Elisabeth Church.

Neusiedl lake

             Neusiedl lake (Neusiedler See, Fertő tó), is the second largest steppe lake in Central Europe, straddling the Austrian–Hungarian border. The lake covers 315 km², of which 240 km² is on the Austrian side and 75 km² on the Hungarian side. The lake's drainage basin has an area of about 1,120 km².
              Despite remaining a protected wildlife habitat, the region of Lake Neusiedl, particularly in its Austrian part, draws significant numbers of tourists. The lake is known as the "Sea of the Viennese", as it offers ample opportunities for sailing and windsurfing.

Tisza river

             The Tisza (Tisa, тиса) is one of the main rivers of Central Europe. It drains an area of about 156,087 km² (60,266 sq mi) and has a length of 965 km (600 mi) the biggest catchment and length of any of Danube tributaries.
              It is passing several cities along its way, including Sighetu Marmaţiei, Khust, Szolnok, Szeged, Bečej. The main tributaries are Someş (Szamos), Körös (Cris), Mureş (Maros), Bodrog, Vişeu River, Iza, Săpânţa, Şugătag, Tur River, Kraszna, Sajó, Zagyva, Bega River, Jegrička, Čik.
              In early 2000, there was a sequence of serious pollution incidents originating from accidental industrial discharges in Romania. This series of incidents were described at the time as the most serious environmental disaster to hit central Europe since the Chernobyl disaster.
