Kikori River

               Kikori River is a river in southern Papua New Guinea on the island of New Guinea. The river is about 320 kilometers (200 mi) long. Source of the river is to the west of the ridge of Arthur Gordon, with peaks up to 3962 meters. The river flows south and then south-east, into the Gulf of Papua, with its delta at the head of the gulf. The settlement of Kikori lies on the delta. 
               Despite the relatively short length, Kikori is one of the most abundant rivers of Papua New Guinea. It had a discharge of 3274 m ³ / s, and it ranks third in the country, after the Sepik and Fly rivers.  Kikori River basin is covered with rich flora and fauna unique rainforest. This area was in 2006, proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
