Ahmedabad

              Ahmedabad (Amdavad, Karnavati), is the largest city and former capital of the Indian state of Gujarat. The city is the administrative headquarter of Ahmedabad district and is the judicial capital of Gujarat as the Gujarat High Court is located here. With a population of more than 5.5 million and an extended population of 6.3 million, it is the fifth largest city and seventh largest metropolitan area of India. It is located on the banks of the River Sabarmati. 
               The main landmarks of Ahmedabad are: Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, Kankaria lake, Ellis Bridge, Fort and Gates of Ahmedabad, Hatheesing Temple, Sabarmati Ashram, Nehru Bridge, Jama Masjid, Sabarmati Riverfront, Calico Mills, Law garden, Victoria Garden, Parimal Garden, Gujarat High Court, Amdavad ni Gufa, Sanskar Kendra Museum, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial, Gujarat University, Louis Kahn Plaza, Ahmedabad Doordarshan.
